Automated Thermal Shrinkage Testing

The TST 510/250 Thermal Shrinkage Tester from Lenzing Instruments provides efficient quality control for testing up to 10 samples simultaneously in one test run. This sophisticated instrument measures thermal shrinkage and shrinkage force resulting from heating of filament and spun yarns, technical yarns such as tire cord, and plastic tapes.

Advanced Testing Capabilities

The system analyzes thermal shrinkage properties by heating samples at pre-set temperatures for specified periods. It offers dynamic testing capabilities where yarn behavior is observed during temperature ramps at constant rates. The specially designed oven-type heater protects measurements from ambient influences while high resolution length measuring sensors and load cells guarantee stable testing conditions and highest accuracy.

Complete Process Control

After sample loading, tests are performed fully automatically and computer controlled without operator influence. The entire shrinkage behavior is graphically displayed on a connected PC, enabling precise monitoring and analysis of production irregularities. User-friendly software offers flexible testing with detailed reports and conforms to ASTM D4974, D5591 and EN 13844 standards.
