Weathering Testing of Extra-Large and 3-Dimensional Specimens
The Atlas SUNTEST XXL+ is a large xenon lamp weathering and lightfastness test chamber meeting various ISO, ASTM, and ICH industry standards. Its horizontal 3000 cm² exposure area is best-in-class for 3-D specimen testing.
The SUNTEST XXL+ is used to check for property changes of materials and products caused by sunlight, temperature and moisture in a short period of time. The aging which happens outdoors or indoors over months or years, such as fading, yellowing or loss of strength, can often be simulated within weeks inside a SUNTEST.
Key Benefits
Premium simulation of solar radiation according to CIE85 reference sun with optional filters for simulating sunlight through window glass. The instrument features a best-in-class chamber design specifically optimized for testing 3-D specimens, making it ideal for comprehensive weathering analysis.
The system includes an easy-to-use touch screen user interface with 13 selectable languages and pre-programmed standards for quick-start test setup. Additional features include an access port for external sensors, Black Standard Temperature Sensor (BST) according to ISO 4892-1, and automatic control of irradiance for various testing needs.
Advanced Testing Capabilities
The SUNTEST XXL+ offers direct setting and control of irradiance at 300-400 nm or 340 nm, with precise control of Black Standard Temperature (BST) or Black Panel Temperature (BPT). The system provides controlled temperature differences between chamber temperature (CHT) and BST/BPT for optimal test conditions.
With its ultrasonic humidification system for humidity control and integrated specimen spray system with 60-liter water reservoir, the instrument delivers comprehensive environmental simulation. The 5° tilted specimen test plane ensures proper spray water draining during testing cycles.
