The Memmert ULT Freezer is designed for one paramount task: the reliable protection of valuable samples over extended periods. It combines consistent, precise temperature control across a setting range of -50 to -86 °C with integrated safety features and an energy-optimised design built for continuous operation. This makes it ideal for life science and clinical applications such as biobanking, vaccine storage and the preservation of cell lines, DNA, RNA, proteins and tissue samples.

Energy-Optimised Cooling with Natural Refrigerants

The ULT Freezer uses a cooling system with two cascade-connected compressors for dependable low-temperature performance, employing the natural refrigerants R455A (first stage) and R170 (second stage) with an air-cooled condenser. Energy-optimised Eco Line models add inverter-controlled compressors that adapt cooling output to demand, reducing energy consumption while maintaining thermal stability.

Multi-Level Safety Concept

Protecting irreplaceable samples is central to the ULT Freezer design. Visual and acoustic alarms, a backup battery that keeps alarming and monitoring running during a power failure, insulated stainless steel outer doors with a mechanical door lock, door-open detection and remote monitoring work together to safeguard contents around the clock.

Intuitive Touchscreen Control

A 7-inch touchscreen integrated in the outer door provides an intuitive interface for setting and supervising the freezer. Temperature is monitored with a precise Pt1000 sensor, and Ethernet LAN and USB interfaces support data access and integration with laboratory monitoring systems.

Flexible Configurations

Available in five capacities from 244 to 966 litres, the ULT Freezer suits everything from compact laboratory needs to large biobanks. The stainless steel interior is divided into 4 compartments with 2 inner doors and 3 height-adjustable shelves for flexible adaptation to different load sizes, and the textured stainless steel casing is mounted on lockable castors for easy positioning.
