Steriliser S - Memmert

Hot-Air Sterilisation that Protects Life

The Memmert Steriliser S is a hot-air (dry heat) sterilisation device for laboratory equipment and medical devices. Classified as a class IIb medical device, it is intended for the sterilisation of medical devices with dry heat at atmospheric pressure - eliminating microorganisms reliably without moisture, so items remain completely dry throughout the process.

Natural or Forced-Air Circulation

The S line is available with natural convection (SN) or forced air circulation (SF). Forced-air SF units provide faster, more uniform temperature distribution across the chamber, while natural-convection SN units offer a quiet, draught-free environment. Both reach temperatures up to +250 C.

Reliable, Documented Cycles

The unique Memmert ControlCOCKPIT with AtmoCONTROL software makes operation intuitive. The SetpointWAIT function ensures the sterilisation time only begins once the set temperature is reached at all measurement points, guaranteeing precise sterilisation and the complete killing-off of even the most resistant microorganisms. An integrated data logger supports protocolling and documentation, while a User-ID function prevents manipulation and an optional electromagnetic door lock is available on TwinDISPLAY models.

Built to Last

The working chamber and housing are made from high-quality, corrosion-resistant and easily cleanable stainless steel - scratch-resistant, hygienic and durable. Electronic temperature monitoring, a mechanical temperature limiter and an auto-diagnostic system add safety, and the range is backed by a 3-year worldwide guarantee.

Eight Sizes

With eight model sizes from 32 to 749 litres, there is a Steriliser S to match almost any throughput. Contact Cromocol for model selection, available chamber volumes and support in Sweden.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is hot-air (dry heat) sterilisation and what is the Memmert Steriliser S used for?
The Memmert Steriliser S is a hot-air (dry heat) sterilisation device for laboratory equipment and medical devices. It is classified as a class IIb medical device and is intended for the sterilisation of medical devices with dry heat at atmospheric pressure. Dry heat is ideal for items that must stay completely dry, such as metal instruments, glassware, powders and oils that cannot be processed in a steam autoclave.
What is the difference between the SN and SF Steriliser models?
SN models use natural (gravity) convection, while SF models use forced air circulation with a fan. Forced-air SF units achieve faster, more uniform temperature distribution throughout the chamber, which is beneficial for full loads and demanding sterilisation cycles.
What temperature range and sizes does the Steriliser S offer?
The Steriliser S reaches temperatures up to +250 C and is available in eight model sizes from 32 to 749 litres, from a compact 32 L bench unit to a large-capacity 749 L chamber.
How does the SetpointWAIT function ensure reliable sterilisation?
With SetpointWAIT, the sterilisation time only begins once the set temperature has been reached at all measurement points. This guarantees precise sterilisation times and the complete killing-off of even the most resistant microorganisms.
What material is the chamber made from and what controllers are available?
The working chamber and housing are made from high-quality, corrosion-resistant and easily cleanable stainless steel. The Steriliser S is available with SingleDISPLAY or TwinDISPLAY controllers, both operated via the Memmert ControlCOCKPIT with AtmoCONTROL software and an integrated data logger for documentation.
