Atlas Ci3000 Weather-Ometer / Fade-Ometer
The Atlas Ci3000 Weather-Ometer® / Fade-Ometer® is a xenon arc accelerated weathering instrument for color fastness and material durability testing. It uses a 4500 W water-cooled xenon arc lamp and an enclosed 2-tier inclined specimen rack to expose test specimens to simulated solar radiation under controlled environmental conditions.
Weather-Ometer and Fade-Ometer Configurations
The Ci3000 is available in both Weather-Ometer and Fade-Ometer versions. The Weather-Ometer configuration adds specimen and rack spray to simulate rain and moisture exposure and includes 14 factory pre-programmed test methods, while the Fade-Ometer configuration is for light-only color fastness testing with 6 factory pre-programmed test methods. Both versions provide space for 12 custom programs with sub-cycle capability.
Control and Environmental Conditioning
The 4500 W water-cooled xenon arc lamp system simulates the UV, visible and infrared regions of natural sunlight. The full color 13” touchscreen enables direct setting and control of irradiance at 340 nm, 420 nm, or 300-400 nm, along with Black Panel and Black Standard Temperature (BPT/BST), relative humidity, and chamber air temperature. The VibraSonic™ Humidification System and enclosed 2-tier inclined specimen rack provide uniform exposure across the full exposure area of up to 3,450 cm².
Monitoring, Calibration, and Compliance
The Ci3000 includes a SmartLight™ monitor that verifies the correct light capsule is installed, a water purity indicator with alarm, a chamber viewing window, and automatic test countdown based on time or radiant exposure. Calibration is supported via a xenon reference lamp or XenoCal device, and streaming data output is available over Ethernet or USB. Multi-language capability and universal electrical configurations make it suitable for laboratories worldwide. The instrument meets CE, UL, ISO, EN, CSA, and UKCA safety requirements and numerous AATCC, ASTM, ISO, SAE, VDA, VW, JASO and MIL-STD test standards.
