Gentle, Powerful, Energy-Saving Vacuum Drying

The Memmert Vacuum Oven VO is designed for gentle, powerful and energy-saving vacuum drying. Digital pressure control enables rapid yet careful drying, while an optional speed-controlled vacuum pump saves around 70% energy compared with conventional pumps. The series is available in three sizes - VO29, VO49 and VO101 - covering chamber volumes from 29 to 101 litres.

Directly Heated Thermoshelves

Because heat transfer is severely reduced in a vacuum, the VO heats the load directly through individually placeable thermoshelves rather than relying on the surrounding air. Each thermoshelf features large-surface heating and its own Pt100 temperature sensor, delivering efficient, uniform and reproducible drying. The VO29 is supplied with one thermoshelf, while the VO49 and VO101 each include two.

Precise Vacuum and Temperature Control

The VO controls vacuum across a range of 5 to 1100 mbar, and with the speed-controlled pump can reach a final vacuum of up to 2 mbar. Temperatures are adjustable from 5 C above ambient up to +200 C, with an optional extension to 220 C. Vacuum cycling and optimized membrane rinsing further protect sensitive loads.

Robust Construction and Smart Control

The VO is built with a stainless steel interior and exterior housing and an anti-splinter, VDE-tested vacuum door. The TwinDISPLAY interface and AtmoCONTROL software make programming straightforward, with multiple interfaces for documentation. Typical applications include drying of foodstuffs, cosmetics, granulates, watches, books, printed circuit boards, electronic components and injection moulds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What vacuum range can the Memmert Vacuum Oven VO achieve?
The VO offers a vacuum setting range of 5 to 1100 mbar via digital pressure control. With the speed-controlled vacuum pump, a final vacuum of up to 2 mbar can be reached, and the oven supports vacuum cycling for rapid, gentle drying.
What sizes are available in the VO series?
Three model sizes are available: the VO29 (29 litres, interior 385 x 305 x 250 mm), the VO49 (49 litres, interior 385 x 385 x 330 mm) and the VO101 (101 litres, interior 545 x 465 x 400 mm).
What is the maximum temperature of the VO vacuum oven?
The standard temperature range is from 5 C above ambient up to +200 C. With the m360 option the maximum temperature can be extended to 220 C.
How does the heating work in a vacuum?
Because heat transfer in a vacuum is limited, the VO uses directly heated thermoshelves instead of relying on the chamber air. Each thermoshelf has large-surface heating and its own Pt100 sensor, so the load is heated efficiently through direct contact. The VO29 ships with one thermoshelf and the VO49 and VO101 with two.
How is the VO oven controlled and programmed?
The VO uses the TwinDISPLAY interface together with the AtmoCONTROL software, which allows programs to be created on a PC and transferred to the unit, plus multiple interface options for programming and documentation.
What materials and applications is the VO suited to?
Built with a stainless steel interior and exterior and an anti-splinter, VDE-tested door, the VO is used for vacuum drying of foodstuffs, cosmetics, granulates, watches, books, printed circuit boards, electronic components and injection moulds, among others.
