Economical Fluorescent UV and Condensation Weathering
The Atlas UVTest is an economical instrument for fluorescent UV and condensation weathering test methods. Using fluorescent UV lamps together with a condensation cycle, it reproduces the damage caused by sunlight, dew and rain so that the deterioration which happens outdoors over months or years - fading, gloss loss, cracking, chalking and embrittlement - can be simulated within days or weeks.
With selectable UVA-340, UVB-313 or UVA-351 bulbs, the UVTest can be configured for the short-wave UV portion of sunlight, accelerated screening, or sunlight filtered through window glass, making it suitable for architectural and construction materials, automotive components, paints and coatings, plastics, and wind and solar applications.
Key Benefits
The UVTest is designed for safety, ease of use and accuracy. Eight 40 W fluorescent UV lamps deliver 4% irradiance uniformity across the sample face, and Black Panel Temperature control maintains precise conditions in both the UV and condensation phases. A multi-language touch screen interface simplifies operation, while patented irradiance safety access ports allow calibration without compromising operator safety.
Door safety and over-temperature shutoff systems protect both the operator and the samples, and the instrument is CE, UL and CSA certified. A recirculating spray water system reduces deionized water consumption, and remote Ethernet data acquisition supports modern laboratory workflows.
Specimen Handling and Capacity
The UVTest holds 48 specimens plus a Black Panel Temperature sensor across 24 specimen holders, using ergonomically designed retaining rings for fast, repeatable mounting. Up to 12 specimen spray nozzles are available, and stackable units allow laboratories to expand exposure capacity within a compact footprint.
