Flexiproof 100 / UV - RK Print

Product Description

The Flexiproof 100 / UV from RK Print is a high speed, operator-friendly machine for the production of proofs using water, solvent or UV flexographic inks. It is a scaled down but exact version of a full sized flexo press, giving ink manufacturers, printers and R&D teams a fast, repeatable way to reproduce press conditions in the laboratory.

By moving colour matching and testing off the production press, the Flexiproof 100 helps prevent press downtime, reduce on-press waste and cut customer returns. It prints on paper, film, foil and any flexible substrate, and complies with ISO 2834-2.

Performance

The Flexiproof 100 prints at speeds of up to 99 m/min over a maximum printing area of 240 x 75 mm. Roller adjustment in steps of 4 micron gives fine, repeatable control of the proof. Quick-change ceramic or steel anilox rollers are used, and the machine is supplied with five ceramic anilox rollers, each with two engraved bands covering volumes of 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 13-18 cm³/m².

UV Curing

The UV version is now available with UV LED curing, with an output of 200 W/cm and a peak wavelength of 310-370 nm, so UV flexographic inks can be proofed and cured exactly as they would be in production.

Applications

  • Off-press colour matching to avoid press downtime
  • Computer colour matching, database creation and sample preparation for ink manufacturers
  • R&D and assessment of product viability without full production press runs
  • Quality control of ink and substrate performance: wear and scratch resistance, flexibility, durability and gloss
  • Producing samples suitable for spectrophotometer readings and colour-matching databases

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Flexiproof 100 / UV used for?
The Flexiproof 100 / UV is a high-speed, operator-friendly proofing machine that produces proofs using water, solvent or UV flexographic inks. It acts as a scaled-down but exact version of a full-sized flexo press, letting ink manufacturers and printers carry out off-press colour matching, computer colour matching, R&D and quality control without committing a production press.
Which inks and substrates can the Flexiproof 100 handle?
It runs water-based, solvent-based and UV flexographic inks and prints on paper, film, foil and any flexible substrate, making it suitable for representative proofs across a wide range of flexo applications.
How fast does the Flexiproof 100 print and what area does it cover?
The machine prints at speeds of up to 99 m/min and has a maximum printing area of 240 x 75 mm, with roller adjustment in steps of 4 micron for fine, repeatable control.
What anilox rollers are supplied with the Flexiproof 100?
It uses quick-change ceramic or steel anilox rollers and is supplied with five ceramic anilox rollers, each with two engraved bands, covering volumes of 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 13-18 cm³/m² so a wide range of ink films can be evaluated.
What does the UV version add?
The UV version adds UV curing, including UV LED curing, with an output of 200 W/cm and a peak wavelength of 310-370 nm, allowing UV flexographic inks to be proofed and cured in the same way they would be on a production press.
Does the Flexiproof 100 comply with any standards?
Yes. The Flexiproof 100 complies with ISO 2834-2, and the proofs it produces are suitable for spectrophotometer readings and for building colour-matching databases.
