Single and Multi-Axis Motion Simulation / Rotary Tables - RMS

Product Description

RMS single and multi-axis motion simulators / rotary tables are rate and positioning systems built for testing electronic control units, inertial platforms and inertial sensors. Each system is specially tailored to the application, covering rotation rate, position, sine and freely programmable motion courses with a very high degree of positioning accuracy, dynamics, synchronization accuracy and stability.

The systems combine directly driven brushless torque motors with precision bearings and optical angle measurement systems, RMS’s own motion controller hardware, and intuitive software with auto-tuning control technology. They can be supplied in single-axis or multi-axis configurations and optionally combined with temperature or climatic chambers for environmental testing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can RMS motion simulators and rotary tables be used for?
They are single- and multi-axis rate and rotary table systems used to test electronic control units, inertial platforms and sensors such as gyroscopes and accelerometers, in both research and production environments. Each system is tailored to the specific test requirement.
What accuracy and synchronization do these systems offer?
The systems achieve a positioning accuracy of better than 10 arcsec and synchronization better than 1 arcsec. The positioning-focused SDL5643 series offers extremely high resolution, with values down to 0.00001°.
What dynamic performance is available?
Depending on the configuration, the range covers torque from 1 Nm up to 1000 Nm, yaw rates up to 36,000°/s, angular accelerations up to 1,000,000°/s², sine frequencies up to 1000 Hz and accelerations up to 5000 g.
How are single- and multi-axis configurations built?
Systems use directly driven brushless torque motors with precision bearings and optical angle measurement systems. They can be supplied as single-axis or multi-axis configurations and combined with RMS's own motion controller hardware and auto-tuning control software.
Which models are available?
The range includes the SDL 1400 Torsion Vibration Master, the robust single-axis SDL 1689, the multi-axis SDL2000, the high-precision positioning SDL5600/SDL5643 series, the mobile SDK431 rate table and DBD centrifuge systems.
Can the rotary tables be combined with environmental testing?
Yes. The motion simulators can be equipped with optional temperature or climatic chambers, allowing inertial and control-unit testing to be carried out under controlled environmental conditions.
